Biography

Screenwriter, songwriter ("Hi-Lili, Hi-Lo"), composer, screenwriter and author, educated at Barnard College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She headed the Theatre Guild press department in 1937-1938. Joining ASCAP in 1953, her chief musical collaborators included Jay Livingston, Bronislaw Kaper, and Bernard Green. Her other popular-song and instrumental compositions include "March of the Ill-Assorted Guards", "Take My Love", "The Ballad of Jack and the Beanstalk", "Twelve Feet Tall", "Sweet World", "I'll Go Along With You", "Looka Me", and "He Never Looks My Way".
