Elaine Del Valle is a writer, director, producer and casting director. Elaine first garnered critical acclaim with her autobiographical, one-woman stage play, Brownsville Bred, which depicts her true Latina coming-of-age story during the height of the crack and AIDS epidemics in Brownsville, Brooklyn, NY. The New York Times raved, From Girlhood Trials To Onstage Triumph! Elaine adapted her play into a young adult novel, Brownsville Bred: Dreaming Out Loud. Her book was named a most inspirational young adult book of 2020 by the ILBA awards. Elaine is a Warner Media 150 Artist and a Sundance Director Lab alumna. As a producer, she was the first person to license an interstitial series to the HBO network. As a director, her short films, Me 3.769 and Princess Cut can also be seen on HBO. As a television writer, Elaine's original drama pilot, The System, landed a development deal with CBS. Elaine owns and operates Del Valle Productions and Casting, and has become a go-to person for up-and-coming diverse talent and rising stars for many high profile brands, agencies and studios. She led the original casting of Comedy Central's Alternatino and PBS Kid's Alma's Way. Both series highlight multicultural talent in NYC. Elaine was featured in the PBS documentary, Beating The Odds, alongside such luminaries as Michelle Obama. Miami News Times named her on their Filmmakers to Watch list and Ebby Magazine called her a Tour de Force. Elaine is the recipient of the Madrina and Vanguard Awards, which reflect her leadership in and support of the Latinx independent filmmaking community.
