Dwayne grew up in Panora, Iowa. He served his country in the Army during the Korean a War and was honorably discharged in 1954. He worked for Ford Implement Mfg until it relocated to Detroit and then was a truck driver. He was a volunteer Fire fighter and a member of his local VFW.
Dwayne was a dirt bike racer, which earned him a small speaking role in the movie "Fever Heat." He loves dirt track racing, riding four-wheelers, and spending his winters in Arizona.
The love of his love was ZoeAnn Griffin. They met in 1956 and were married the following year on September 27, 1957. They had five children, 9 grandchildren, and six great grand children.
