Germain Baert

Germain Baert studied fotography in Brussels. He worked from 1926 on as a cameraman. From 1927 till 1930 he was a photgapher in Blankenberge (on the coast of Belgium), and meanwhile he was also a photographer in Brussels from 1928 till 1933. He was together with Jos Buyse from 1928 till 1930 manager for 'Vlaamsche Stille-Kunst Studio' and 'Buba-Films'. From 1930 till 1932 he worked as a cameraman for Gaston Schoukens. From 1932 he worked as a teacher for photography in Brussels. He worked also as a cameraman for the Belgian newsagency Belga. From 1937 till 1942 he worked as a cameramn for UFA-Journal. During the years 1941 and 1942 he had his own cinema in Adinkerke (a Belgian village near france). He became ill in 1942, and this was the end of his activities in the world of movies.
