Biography

David Wolf Anderson noted Writer, traveler, lecturer and ex-Hoosier school teacher, died Saturday morning at Hotel Favorite, Piqua, Ohio, of heart trouble. Mr Anderson was born nearly 70 years ago in Missouri, coming to this county with his parents at an early age. They first made their home in the Montmorenci vicinity, later residing at Stockwell. He taught school for several years in Tippecanoe county before becoming associated with the Redpath Chautauqua, for whom he traveled and lectured in nearly every state in the Union. While on these travels he wrote for several leading magazines, and later was the author of several books, basing his stories on the Wabash river valley of Tippecanoe county. Among his better known works are "The Blue Moon," "The Red Lock," "Thunderhawk," and "Wine flame". The first two were recently sold to a syndicate for motion picture production. For the past several years, Mr Anderson had been a sales representative for the Morgan, Dillon Publishing Company of Chicago. Friends may call at the Dwight Baker funeral home ere until Tuesday morning. The remains will be in state at the Montmorenci M E Church an hour before services, which will be conduced there at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, the Rev C V Roush of the Stockwell M E Church officiating. Burial will be in Montmorenci Cemetery.
