Biography

Todor Andrejkov was a film critic, editor, writer, director. He was born on August 4, 1933 in the village Golemanovo, Vidin district, Bulgaria. He graduated in "Theatre Studies" at National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria (1955). He has worked as an art critic in Bulgarian cinematography (1956-1959); as Drama specialist at the Ministry of Education and Culture (1959-1960); as director of the Smolyan Drama Theater in 1960-1961; as an editor of the film program in Bulgarian National Television (1961-1963); as an art specialist in Bulgarian National Film Archive (1963-1967), (1969-1970); as a Head of "Film Distribution" in Sofia Press Agency (1968-1969); as a Head of "Studio Cinemas" in "Film Distribution" (1972-1975). He was Chief of the Bulgarian National Film Archive (1976-1981). He was responsible about creating, editing and publishing of "General History of Cinema" (1981-1982). He was awarded with the Order "Cyril and Methodius". He was a Professor in National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria since 1977. He died on January 19, 1997 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
