After 20+ years of creating programs for traditional cable and broadcast TV networks, Paul Adler recently expanded his professional purview to include original digital content and founded the website My Theatre Weekend, where he is also Chief Executive. Bottling his personal passion for New York theatre, the website shares the fun of taking a mini-break to New York for a weekend of Broadway shows, and teaches theatre aficionados how to do it: from choosing the best shows, ticketing strategies, booking hotels and flights, and finding the best places to eat in the Theatre District. The site recently began marketing all-inclusive packages to theatre fans who don't have the time to book a Theatre Weekend themselves.
Previously, Paul was Sr. Vice President of Original Programming and Development at the cable network Pop (then a CBS / Lionsgate partnership, currently ViacomCBS). He was instrumental in re-branding Pop from TVGN (TV Guide Network) with a new slate of brand-defining, original programming including the Emmy-nominated Schitt's Creek, Hollywood Darlings, and Rock This Boat: N.K.O.T.B. During his tenure, the network experienced 9 quarters of ratings growth, consistently beat its competitive set, and renewed more than half of its new series to 2nd and 3rd seasons. Prior to Pop, Paul held Executive positions at both NBC and The Walt Disney Company, and was a Producer at E! Entertainment Television in New York. He also spent several years working in Film and Television Casting, and was part of the casting teams working on Fatal Attraction, Born on the Fourth of July, Uncle Buck and others.
He began his career at age 16 as an on-camera host and producer for the CBS affiliate in his hometown of Boston, where he was the youngest producer of local television in the country.
Paul has been regularly interviewed by various print, TV and radio outlets as an entertainment expert, including The Wall Street Journal, CBS, E!, NPR, New York Times, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Access Hollywood, and the Howard Stern Show. He is an active member of both the Producers Guild of America as well as the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
