Biography

Lucie Bílá was born in small village Otvovice near Prague. Although she was singing for her whole life, first it appeared she would be a dressmaker. But then some man sent her record to Prague radio and she became singer, according to contest Golden Nightingale, most favourite in the decade. Her movie roles were small at the beginning, she portrayed bad or dirty girls. She appeared in a fairytale _Princezna za mlejna (1994)_ as a witch. Her first "real" role was Mother Ubu in F.A. Brabec's Kral Ubu (1996), and she was disappointed with her acting. However, she later played in Cas dluhu (1998), a major character, psychologist Tána. From the beginning of the 90s, she appeared in many musicals, including Les Misérables (as Eponine), Hieronymus Bosch: The Garden of Earthly Delights, Dracula (Lorraine), Krysar (Agnes), Joan of Arc (2003) as Joan of Arc and Excalibur (Ginevra).
