Biography

Peter Brosens is a Belgian filmmaker who directed and produced his internationally acclaimed "Mongolia Trilogy", consisting of "City of the Steppes" (1993), "State of Dogs" (1998) and "Poets of Mongolia" (1999). He then went on to direct and produce feature films with Jessica Woodworth: "Khadak" (Winner of the 2006 Venice Lion of the Future), "Altiplano" (Cannes, 2009) and "The Fifth Season" (Venice Competition, 2012). In 2016 Brosens and Woodworth directed their first comedy, the Venice hit "King of the Belgians" (EFA Nomination for Best European comedy). The sequel "The Barefoot Emperor" is due to be shot in autumn 2018.
