Biography

Academy Award winner Raymond Boy did storyboard artwork for Michael Ballhaus, Robert Redford and Wolfgang Petersen. He works as film director, screenwriter and storyboard artist in Berlin. Early creating and publishing various comic and cartoon series in papers and magazines in Germany and the UK, Boy first studied design at the Fachhochschule Köln. Then he studied film directing at the Academy Of Media Arts in Cologne. Raymond Boy's short films has been nominated and awarded on several film festivals in Europe and in the United States. Beside he started a career as storyboard artist, working on "The Horse Whisperer" and "Air Force One". In 1997 Boy received the Foreign Student Academy Award for "Ein Einfacher Auftrag" (An Ordinary Mission) starring Barbara de Koy and Armin Rohde. As storyboard artist he works with professionals like Janusz Kaminski, Brian Percifal, Uli Edel, Fatih Akin and Til Schweiger on international commercials, TV series and on movies like "The Book Thief" and "Into the Fade". As writer and director he is developing feature film projects. Besides Boy is lecturing Visual Storytelling and Directing Methods at the German Academy of Film & Television Berlin (DFFB) and at the Berlin University of Arts (UDK). Raymond Boy lives in Berlin and Cologne.
