Biography

Born in 1966. Studies at the Film School in Lisbon between 1989/92. In 1998, made the first short film, "Golpe de Asa/"Flying Away", which arrived in Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand and Vila do Conde. Continue to experiment with short films until 2002 and in 2007, directed the first documentary, "O Lar"/"Endgame", a project that comes from the Film School studies. Was shown in Paris at the Pompidou Center (Cinéma du Réel) and traveled through some international festivals. After another documentary with war veterans, I produced and directed "Parto"/"Delivery", following the logic of the characters who play their own role. Continued the following year with "Gesto"/"Sign" a film about a deaf boy who aspires to be a filmmaker. The most recent film, "Os Olhos de André"/"The Eyes of André", premieres at IndieLisboa, with 3 awards, including best film in the national competition, traveling in other places: Québec, Hong Kong, Gijón, London and Paris. In 2018, there are two films in preparation.
