Nathan Blackwell

Biography

Phoenix-based filmmaker Nathan Blackwell began his career like many of his counterparts - a manic eleven year-old running around with a camera. He graduated from South Mountain High School's TV & Communications program, and then attended Scottsdale Community College's Film Production program. At the age of 22 he made his feature film debut with the a low-budget, coming-of-age film "Forever Midnight" (1999). Between a gulf of short films and establishing his own production company, Squishy Studios, his second feature film was the absurd, no-budget comedy "The Constant Epiphanies of Billy The Blood Donor" (2007), based on the play of the same name, about a hapless young man who's drawn into the plot of an evil blood donation clinic. He then moved into the new media space, producing and directing web series such as "Normally This Weird" and the science fiction comedy "Voyage Trekkers."
