Born in Fredrikstad, Østfold County, Norway in 1904 as Kaare Bertrand Hansen, his parents were Karl Hartvig Hansen and Bertha Marie Johannessen. The family later moved to Kristiania (Oslo), where Kaare started as a dancer and revue artist, often together with his sister Aase (1909-1959). He also played in a silent movie Cafe X (1928) Kaare B. played on the capital's revue stages for some years, then he traveled to Denmark where the opportunities were greater. Under the artist name Bent Bert, he was active in the Danish revue for many years until the sixties. In Denmark he also played in the short Det haster (1943). He died in Copenhagen in 1979.
