Biography

Amir Ben-David was born in Haifa, a town in the north part of Israel, on 27 December 1965. He grew up in Kiryat-Motskin, where he graduated from the local high school. After he finished his 3 years of duty in the Israeli army service, he moved to Tel-Aviv. He graduated with a law degree from Tel-Aviv university (1993) and started to write for local newspapers. During the years 1990 to 1997 he was a member of "Avtipus", an Israeli rock group that was very successful in the mid 1990's. He was the guitar player of the group, and wrote several of the band songs, among them the theme song for the Israeli film "leylasede" (1995). He currently working as the deputy editor for the weekend magazin of Haaretz daily newspaper. Married to Yael and father to Layla.
