Raquel Choy

Rachel Choy Lainez, BA in Advertising and Public Relations by the Facultad de Ciencias de la Comunicación de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona 1997 - 2001, began her career in the film industry by a after the recommendation given by a professor or Creativity subject. After finishing her university studies, she obtained a Diploma in Film Direction through Quincedeoctubre Academy in Barcelona during 2002 - 2004. During these years she was the Director, Screenplay writer, Executive Producer, Art Direction and Editor of short film "Nacidos para el Kaos (Born to Kaos)","El Refugio (The shelter)" presented at the Festival of Cinema of Girona 2002 and "Santa Maria" shot in 16mm, as well as various video clips such as: "Basado en Hechos Reales (Based on a True Story)". Later she also obtained a Diploma in Camera operation and Director of Photography by IDEP (School of Image and Design), in Barcelona from 2005 to 2006 and immediately after that she took a course on Editing with Avid in Séptimo Arte Escuela de CIne, Barcelona, in 2006 - 2007. During this time, in addition to the practices suggested in class, she focused on the screenplay of the film "Mithos" (currently under review) and the short film "Bajo la Tierra (Under the earth)", "X" and "Mordiendo los Sueños (Biting the Dreams)". Right now she has retaken the project "X" to be shot in early 2017. Yet she never abandoned the shooting and went on to carry out the Direction, Scriptwriting and Executive Production of the film "La habitación Blanca (The White Room)" in 2006, presented at the Festival of Film Music Soncinemad 2006 and the Brigadoon section of the International Festival of Fantasy Film Sitges 2008. After finishing her studies, she developed the original idea, bible, Script Chapter Pilot and development of the step outline for the TV Series "Anima" sold to Cuarzo Producciones, S.L. in 2007 and embarked as an assistant director in the film "Memorias de Alicia (Alice's Memoirs)". November and December 2010. Presented at the Moscow Film Festival 2012. Just at the end of that year, with her current partner Juan Manuel Moran, she developed the idea of creating a film school focused on a practical model with active teachers, an idea that came true the following year with the founding of Cine en Acción Escuela de Cine, whose Management as well as the associated Producer Company Cinenaccion Producciones, are currently her job. However, she has never stopped creating and participating in projects, so she has combined her work in the School and the Producer's with Scriptwriting, Production and Assistant Director of the film "Mazazo" in 2013 and the Direction, Scriptwriting and Executive Producrion of the film "Conspiración (Conspiracy)" in 2015, now in the process of distribution. In 2016 she finished her film "La Invasión de los Cerdos Simbióticos (The Attack of the Symbiotic Pigs)" of which she was the Director, Writer and Executive Producer. The film has been selected and presented in the Muestra de Cine Inédito de Jaén in March 2016, the Festival B-Retina Barcelona in July 2016 and at the Fantastic Gore Festival of Amposta in September 2016 Amposta, Tarragona among other festivals.
