Biography

Olympic gymnast, Ellie Black was born on September 8, 1995. She was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Her parents are Katharine and Thomas Black. At 9 years old, Ellie began doing competitive gymnastics. She attended Dalhousie University and studied Kinesiology. In 2016, she came in 5th place (all-around event) at the Rio Olympics and in 2017, her silver medal win at the FIG World Championships (Montreal, Quebec), led her to become Canada's first all-around medalist at the World Championships. Since 2010, Ellie has been on the senior national team.
