Kari Staten was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She is an actor, writer & producer known for Lost Ollie (2021) Sacred Lies 2 (2019).
Pronounced 'Car-ee' (not Carrie) she has always had a secret passion for acting but didn't pursue it until later in her life.
During these past six years she has been blessed to work with some of the most amazing & creative people in this industry, booking Lead & Supporting roles in over 15 short films. A few of her favorites have been playing the mother of actor Brendan Fletcher (The Revenant) in the film The Road, as Sandra the interviewer in The Bus Stop and Leslie the mother with a secret, in Motherboard. This Sci-Fi short film earned the Best Comedy Scene award at the Action on Film Festival in Las Vegas.
Since pursuing her acting in Vancouver, Kari has also started to write screenplays. She wrote and shot her first short film , Legion of Zoom (October 2020) and it is in post production. She is also working on her first feature film script, The Bicycle Diaries. This period piece film is loosely based on her father's life growing up in Nazi-Occupied Denmark during WW2. Kari is determined to shoot this film as an homage to her father.
When she's not on set, she continues to take acting classes with Jeb Beach and Wesley Salter (Jeb Beach & Associates). Kari also has been designing jewelry for over 20 years under the name, Zuka Artful Accessories. She also enjoys time at the dog park with her rescue dog Sadie from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
