Samantha Myles was born and raised in Torrance, California, the only child of Allan Myles and Christine Myles (Brigham). Her father was from Glasgow, Scotland, and her mother from Manhattan Beach, California.
From a young age Myles yearned to act, and despite performing in talent shows in her schools, was painfully shy in front of the camera. Her grandmother acquired her an agent when she was 8, but she did not have any success booking and her mother became exhausted taking her to auditions in Hollywood. But her dream never died, and it was her goal to become a working actor ever since.
Not wanting her only child to avoid college, Myles' mother convinced her to further her education and put her desire to act on hold. Fearing a life of unsteady work, Myles went with her second choice career, and graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in broadcast journalism. She was hired by an ABC affiliate station, KSAX, in Alexandria, Minnesota, and it was there where Myles got her start as a television reporter.
Acting, however, became the forefront of her mind, and Myles decided to return to Los Angeles to follow her dream. She appeared in local commercials, became a series regular as the private detective, Jessica Ashcroft on "The E&C P.I. Diaries." A role in a web series provided her SAG eligibility. She has starred and co-starred in two independent films that won awards at Outfest. She has also played a television reporter in an independent film starring Meredith Baxter and Robert Romanos.
She currently resides in Los Angeles and continues her career in television and film.
