Avi Harkishun

Avi Harkishun was born on 6th October 1988 in Berbice, Guyana. Born to Rudy Harkishun (b. 1963) and Sunita Ramprasad (b. 1967. Surname changed to Harkishun after she got married). Avi was born into a working middle-class family. He is the eldest of three siblings, a younger brother Kheshen (b. 1995) and sister Shivanie (b. 2002). His father was in the field of law, but after getting married he started a small retail clothing business with his wife five years after Avi was born. On November 22nd, 2002 his parents decided to leave everything behind in Guyana and migrated permanently to the U.S. to provide a better opportunity for their three children. Avi attended John Adams High School in Queens, NY. After graduating from high school in 2006 he attended CUNY York College majoring in Business Administration and minoring in theater. He got a job working as an assistant loan officer to assist paying his tuition. Avi has always been inspired to become a lawyer because of his father, but things changed when he experienced theater in college. It is there, where he fell in love with acting. At the age of 18, he wanted to attend New York Film Academy to learn acting, but he could not afford it and his parents were not making enough money to support his dream. But he wasn't about to give up on his dream. He did a few local shows and theater productions and waited a few years until he could afford to attend New York Film Academy in 2012 for their one-year conservatory acting for film program in New York. It was a dream come true with the help of his parents. His biggest icons are God, his parents, Superman, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Hollywood Superstars Will Smith and Tom Cruise, and everyone that strives to do good in the world. Avi is a family man. His greatest happiness and strength is his family. His parents have always been there for him and support all his dreams. He said he may lose the world, but once God is with him, his parents, and siblings it is as if he has gained the universe. Avi is also a financial adviser since 2009. He is attending (2016) college to complete his degree in Finance. He's an aspiring entrepreneur and philanthropist. He knows what it feels like to be broke because he has been there many times and for that reason he has a soft spot in his heart for those that are less fortune and he hopes to give back much to the world and help humanity, whether it's monetary or simply just being there for someone because he believes a person's time and presence is the greatest gift to someone. Lots of what he has learned and aspired to become are from his parents and having great mentors while working at his past employer Primerica Financial Services, which he consider one of the best company he has ever worked for. His large heart and down-to-earth personality win heart wherever he goes and he wishes to put a smile on everyone's face he meets and make a positive impact in their life. He believes his life should be a positive message to the world when that day comes where he takes his last breath.
