Brittany Chrishawn Williams-Moore, better known as Brittany Chrishawn, is a multi award-winning filmmaker and advocate for social justice. She's known for coincidentally becoming a victim of police brutality after co-writing and producing a film that explores police brutality and the negative impact it has on society.
This film, entitled "Illville", received festival recognition for best screenplay from Black Screenplays Matter (2018) and the Las Vegas Black Film Festival (2018) before it's production. And once completed in 2019, it was awarded semi-finalist for Best African-American Experience at the Oscar qualifying Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival.
In March 2020, Brittany Chrishawn received an invitation to Cannes, France where "Illville" was to be screened as an official selection of The Cannes International Pan African Film Festival. Shortly after, Brittany unexpectedly experienced the very situation her film "Illville" portrays. Her unique story gained global attention, and by October 2020 her film received another official selection to be screened in Paris, France at the Paris Lift-Off Film Festival.
