Born and raised in Ohio, James Britt is the middle of five children. His father was a traveling clothing vendor at bluegrass music festivals, while his mother pursued a degree in micro-biology. Throughout his early life, James moved from coast to coast, occasionally lived in Guatemala, and finally settled to raise a family with his high school sweetheart in the mountains of Colorado.
James' interest in film production began in his early childhood. Whenever he could get his hands on a camera, he'd find any reason to shoot. James' passion for video production matured into narrative storytelling at the dawn of run-and-gun DSLR filmmaking. He developed a fascination with the technical aspects of camera equipment and visual composition.
Briefly focusing on his hobby as a pro-am photographer in his early twenties, James eventually returned to his love of film and decided to run head-on into his aspirations as a filmmaker. He enrolled in the Digital Cinematography Bachelor of Science Degree Program through Full Sail University in 2014. In his mid-twenties, James became a professional freelance filmmaker and director of photography, and continued on his mission to turn his passion into his lifework.
