Wissame Cherfi was born on September 12, 1988 in Beauvais, France. He is a writer, producer and director, known for En Mode Avion (2021), Fabriqué En Chine (2016) (2016) and We Are Dublin (2013). He has also worked as an assistant-director on feature films Loving Lorna (2017) and as an additional camera operator on Europe, She Loves (2016).
He came to prominence with his first short documentary, We Are Dublin (2013), that won the St. Patrick's Special Prize at the "I Love My City" showcase in 2013 (Dublin, Ireland). It was also shortlisted for 'Best Short Documentary' at the Underground Film Festival 2013. In November 2015, he directed the visual poem Dublin You Are as part of the Dublin bid for European Capital City of Culture. In January 2015, he was commissioned by First Fortnight to co-direct the short documentary, No More Secrets, that focused on street art and mental health issues. This documentary was screened at the IFI in Dublin and in cinemas all over Ireland.
