Biography

Andre D. Abrams was born July 12, 1987 to Raianne and Clifford Abrams, in Fairfield, CA. He and his siblings; older brother Dominic, older sister Desire and two younger sisters Charis and Evana were raised in the Bay Area city of Vallejo, CA. Andre lived there for 17 years. He attended Vallejo Senior High School in Vallejo, Ca. freshmen year through half of his senior year before his family relocated to Sacramento, Ca. He graduated from Pacific High School in North Highlands, CA in 2005 with a 3.4 GPA. Since his move to the Sacramento valley in 2004, he considers Sacramento his home town. While attending Vallejo Senior High School, he spent three years in Drama Class and one year in Advanced Drama 2; where he studied movement, voice, improvisation, and scene study in greater specific detail, along with many other practices pertaining to drama. In Andre's spare time he focuses on his hobbies. He is skilled at playing the drums, playing the piano and at music composition. He loves to sing, whether in the car or karaoke and believes music is life. It provides a positive escape for life's ups and downs. Regardless of his mood, soulful music will always be heard. Andre is a car enthusiast. He hopes to one day have the opportunity to restore a 1969 Chevrolet Nova. He enjoys anything related to sports. Andre played semi-pro arena football for the California Eagles from 2011-2012. He greatly enjoyed the experience of being part of a team, he is glad to have learned the importance of team work. His coach used to say, "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together." Those words of wisdom have since stayed with Andre; he feels it was a valuable lesson that can be applied to numerous aspects of life. For the past 8 years, Andre has been friends with award-winning author and director, Trevor L. Smith (known for Vigilantes [2006], Song Man [2009] and Unbelievers [2016]). They met through one of Andre's previous jobs and remained in contact. Mid-year of 2015, when Trevor was able to direct his latest film, based on his award winning novel, "The Unbelievers" he sent a snippet of the script to Andre and asked that he submit a video audition to the casting directors. His video was reviewed and within a few days he was contacted and was told he got the part. This was a life-changing event for Andre. His first role in a feature film was a minor speaking role and it was more than he could have asked for. The Abrams family attended Calvary Community Church in Vallejo, Ca until moving to Sacramento. Andre was reborn on August 16, 2003 during a church camp. After moving to Sacramento he and his family found and began attending services at Hillsdale Baptist Community Church where. He rededicated his life to Christ in late 2011. Andre firmly believes God gave him a passion for entertainment through acting and that He opened the door for his first chance at turning that passion into a profession. His love of God and unwavering faith help Andre focus on his desire to move forward in his career and keep him grounded and determined in all other aspects of his personal life.
