Biography

Mary Strause (born August 14th, 1995) is an American writer, director, and musician from Rio, Wisconsin. Her work is a mixture of dark comedy, psychological thriller, fantasy, and musical genres. She ventured to Los Angeles for film school in 2014 at Studio School LA ( once known as Relativity School) where she was a part of the inaugural class and concentrated in screenwriting and directing. Mary's first short film "Sweven" (2015), a psychological thriller based around a successful high school girl who's one-night stand forces her to reveal her true self, lead Mary to be nominated as "The Best Student Director," in the London Modcon Film Festival, and become a runner-up. Her pilot, "Christmastown" (2019) was also a semifinalist in the 2019 Scriptapalooza TV Pilot Competition.
