Biography

Ali Sohail Jaura was born in 1994 in Karachi, Pakistan. He became interested in cinema in his teenage years and started his filmmaking education by joining Iqra University of Pakistan in 2012 in undergraduate Film & Tv program. His debut short film during his 3rd academic year was his direction course final project "Prohibited" which were screened at Pakistan's largest International film festival "Karawood International Film Festival" and won the "Special Festival Mention" award at the 3rd Indian CIne Film Festival - 2015 in India. Also "Best Foreign Short (Student) Film" award at Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards - 2015.
