Emily Kelley was born to Walter, a construction professional, and Melissa, a physical therapist. A California girl through and through, she grew up in Simi Valley, CA before moving to Paso Robles, CA in the heart of California wine country. Emily always had a passion for acting and dress up, having taken acting and dancing classes from a young age. She appeared in a few local and school productions, including one she wrote herself in the 5th grade.
In high school, Emily focused more on her writing, including being on the school newspaper and writing a short film based on "The Princess Bride" and various literary works entitled "As You Wish." She was accepted into California State University, Northridge to study Journalism, and continued to write and act. As a freshman, she wrote and starred in a short scene entitled "The Deal" in which she played a deal making demon. Emily also held multiple editorships on her college paper, The Roundup Newspaper.
Over the years, Emily has worked as the host of a weekly radio show, "Talk Nerdy to Me," and as the anchor for the daily YouTube news show "ULife Daily News." In 2012, she co-founded Wrong Button Media with fellow writer Peter Kunin. Wrong Button includes the Geekie Award-winning Wrong Button Blog and lifestyle site Crafts & Controllers.
Her first professional credit was appearing on SyFy's hit game show "Geeks Who Drink" alongside host Zachary Levi, LOST's Mark Pellegrino, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D's Brett Dalton.
