Syd Richardson

Syd Richardson is a New York based Commercial and Narrative Director born in Queens , New York . Raised with no siblings or father figure , Syd found solace in cinema at a young age . His mother would work long hours and many times couldn't afford a baby sitter . So young Syd would constantly have films playing the back round with the volume turned up . He states - "I took in the sound's of the actors their laughing , screaming, cries . I felt atmosphere of the scene and the location they shot in , it was an unexplainable blissful feeling to have as a child . It always made me feel like I was never alone . In a strange way movies kinda raised me". Syd never watched any of the traditional movies kids his age watched , he enjoyed what his mother watched which consisted of thrillers like The Matrix and Good Fella's . Which very much explains his artistic choices in stylization . Him and his mother moved very frequently until eventually landing in South Florida during his High School freshman year were he took up Film and Digital photography . Immediately after gradating he moved to New York City attending an 8-week film program from which he started his career . He worked in Camera Department as an 2nd Assistant Camera , hoping to gain enough knowledge of cinematography to shoot his own privately funded productions .Although he made a brief switch to Art Department later becoming an Art Director .He worked as an Art Director until he had a large enough network to start his own production company were he now produces his own content . He occasionally finds himself behind the camera . Acting in television series , web-series , commercials and short films . Syd began the process of exploring the world Narrative filmmaking coming 2018.
