Gene Shanks

Born in St. Louis, MO on November 4, 1966. Has a child his family moved to North Carolina. His father was an electrical engineer and his mother was credit manager at the local television station in Winston-Salem. He became fascinated with television/movie production and learned everything he could about it. Especially storytelling aspects. After graduating from the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Art, Inc. in 1988, Gene began a career as a graphic artist in the newspaper industry. After 20 years he was forced to change careers and went into screen printing. During that time he got involved in Cable Access Television and the Jaycees. This interesting combination led him to create Jaycee TV in 1998. This unique Jaycee project won Best Project in the World. He only occasionally works on random amateur projects will keep him writing and performing.
