Christal Kahles

Christal is a gifted author and actress who began writing at the age of 11. At that time "special needs" kept Christal somewhat isolated from the public, unable to spend time outdoors, and with a very low self-esteem. She ended up spending her time sitting at her desk writing... poems and then short stories... She soon became a published poet, winning the Young Author's Award from Verses Magazine. This encouraged Christal to continue writing poetry. The words would just flow from the inside of her to the paper. Soon Christal was a member of the International Authors Registry...quite an honor for such a young lady...most notedly a young woman fighting disabilities every day of her life. Christal began homeschooling in the 4th grade due to these special needs. She loved reading and doing the work to such an extent that she went through the summers and ended up graduating high school at age 16 with a 4.0 GPA! She continued on to college but wanted the experience of being on campus, so she enrolled in a community college close to her home. By the age of 18, she had completed her 3 years there... with a 3.96 GPA... While she was there, Christal was told by several professors as well as the Dean and the college Counselor that she should consider a career in writing or some other creative art. She won several awards, made the Dean's list each semester and was inducted into the International Honor Society. Soon Christal's creative flow began to grow into the form of short stories, and then into the form of a book. She started introducing characters by written word...each that had a small piece of Christal in them. Before long, these characters began to interact with each other and share dreams, heartaches, and victories. Thus 'In The Garden' was born! Today, Christal has seen that book become a screenplay, be submitted to film festivals all over the country (we're waiting for the upcoming months to arrive so we hear whether it has won any "best screen play" awards!). And finally the screenplay is in pre-production for the movie. Christal's dreams...of publishing her book...have far exceeded what she could ever imagine! Her book is not only going to hit the big screen in the form of a movie (and hopefully bring hope to a lot of broken lives), but Christal is now an actress taking roles in movies! She never dreamed when she sat on the back of the couch watching other kids play outside, that one day... she would walk the streets in Hollywood; and still be working for the Lord! This is what happens when you have faith and believe that GOD will take care of it for you! Christal dedicated her book to every person that has ever had disabilities or special needs that stood in their way of achieving their dreams. For anyone that had ever been told "No" to their attempts at making things happen to achieve better quality in their lives, or been ridiculed for following their dreams. This soon became Christal's passion in life...her ministry.... to sound the alarm and bring attention to the idea that no matter how broken you are, no matter how high the mountain seems, and no matter how many others tell you "No," Dare To Dream! You too can see miraculous things happen in your life. Your dreams can come true! You have to believe in yourself. Know that there is a great big God out there that finds pleasure in seeing you succeed, have faith that you have what it takes to achieve your goals. Be patient... and continue to stay on the path that leads to your dream. It Will Happen!
