Biography

William Franklin 'Bill' Hardman, Jr. was an American jazz trumpeter and flugelhornist known for playing hard bop. Throughout his career he played with a number of other jazz luminaries including: Tadd Dameron, Tiny Bradshaw, Jackie McLean, Charles Mingus, Horace Silver, Benny Golson, Henry 'Hank' Mobley, Steve Turre, Mal Waldron, Curtis Fuller, Houston Person, Junior Cook, Lou Donaldson and Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers (with whom he recorded 17 albums). Bill Hardman also recorded a half dozen albums as a leader.
