A veteran journalist with experience mostly in print, but also in radio and television, Van Horne began working for Clerisy Entertainment in January 2014 as a script writer and worked on several productions, including Sticks and Stones, before getting his first director's assignment in January 2015. He is directing his second documentary -- about Canadian peacekeepers in Bosnia -- which should be released in summer/fall 2016. His first documentary, Beyond The Game, premiered in January 2016 and told the story of Larry Uteck, Chris Flynn and the people who played for Saint Mary's Huskies football team. Van Horne has also written two plays. His second play, Butterscotch Palace, was performed in March 2015 at the Theatre Arts Guild's playwrights festival. His first play, Department of Common Sense, earned critical acclaim and box-office success as it was performed in six venues between March 2013 and May 2014.
He loves nature, especially the ocean, and has a keen interest in the environment and social justice. When he reads, he prefers non-fiction, especially history and biographies.
