Brandon Mendez Homer quit his finance job after receiving mentorship from Governor Deval Patrick to start his acting career. He enrolled into The Juilliard School several months later auditioning with a monologue written by Vin Diesel from the short film Multi-Facial.
He was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. His ancestry includes African-American, Afro-Honduran, Afro-Caribbean, and Afro-Asian descent. He grew up in socially, economically, and politically contrasting neighborhoods throughout Boston: In Brookline, with his Grandparents, prominent figures and civic leaders in the Black community. In Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan, with his single-mother and older brother.
He started working in finance in Downtown Boston when he was 18. After work, he trained at The Michael Chekhov Actor's Studio Boston, under Scott Fielding. He made his TV debut Guest Starring on Blue Bloods and was schedule to make his theater debut with The Public Theater before the pandemic hit.
