Sophie Lepowic

Biography

Sophie is an international Belgian/Australian actress. She developed a passion for theatre at an early age, writing role-plays in the playground. She performed her first lead role in high school as Agnès in 'The School of Wives' by Molière and took acting classes throughout her teenage years. She grew up and studied in Belgium then moved to the French West Indies where she joined the Courtes Lignes Theatre Company with which she keeps a fond memory of her interpretation of Laura in 'Between Two Worlds' by Eric Emmanuel Schmitt, an author she is inspired by. When she moved to Sydney, in 2011, she continued her acting journey by studying screen acting at NIDA and Point Break Drama in the Northern Beaches where she lives. Since, she's starred in feature films like No46 or in the "House of Bond" series and multiple short films including Perception, The Rising, Highly Recommended or Agitations Végétales. Always eager to learn, she has also trained as a scriptwriter and film director at NIDA and AFTRS. She has written and directed short films including 'Perception', 'Those that Kill', 'Do You?' and 'What did You Say?' and more recently a feature documentary 'Inferno without Borders'.
