Cassandra (Cassie) Hunter was born on the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. Her father is from the Bronx, New York and her mother is from Sakon Nakhon, Thailand. She started singing and acting in school productions at the age of 8 and continued through high school. She attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Creative Writing. While attending university, she began modeling and acting again for local designers and filmmakers such as Edge of Urge, South Castles, and Lighthouse Films.
In 2012, she launched a fashion e-zine "Crimson & Clover" that later evolved into a fashion blog by the name of We The Fashionati. That same year, she worked for the non-profit organization Working Films which specializes in creating campaign platforms for documentaries geared toward social activism. This sparked her interest in storytelling with an impact and rekindled her desire to act professionally. She moved to New York City in 2013 where she worked as a fashion recruiter for an agency while working on her own scripts on the side, before penning "No Reason" with Richard Lietz in 2015.
Since moving to New York, Cassie has worked with independent fashion brands, musicians, and filmmakers such as Spree Wilson, Kwesi Abbensetts, Verily Mag, and Martine's Dream. She was featured as one of Refinery 29's Most Eligible Bachelorette's of 2015 and in xoNecole for a discussion on healthy sex-positive relationships and lifestyle.
