Alexandra Marvar

An expert in building and engaging digital communities, Alex has led workshops and joined panels on the future of film distribution, crowdfunding, and audience building for the Hot Docs Ignite Labs; the the IFP, Geena Davis Institute; Vancouver International Film Festival, Fantasia Film Festival, Camden International Film Festival Points North Institute, The Sloan Foundation, others. She worked under Ivan Askwith of Askwith&Co, leading content creation on Alex Winter's 2016 Zappa Movie Kickstarter campaign, which at its completion was the highest-grossing documentary film campaign in crowdfunding history. In 2017, she co-produced a campaign to restore the only remaining 35mm print of, and facilitate the premier digital release of, Alex Rockwell's 1992 Sundance Winner In The Soup (Steve Buscemi, Jennifer Beals). She has worked on fundraising and engagement campaigns for Super Troopers II, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Will Sheff of Okkervil River's Down Down the Deep River, others.
