Born and raised in Miami, FL, Jessica Muniz-Collado studied music composition from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and percussion performance at the University of Miami under the direction of renown percussionist/composer, Dr. Ney Rosauro. She also studied with Vic Firth Artist Edward "Ted" Adkatz, Latin Percussion Artist Richard Bravo, and Pearl Drumset Artist Olbin Burgos. She has had the privilege to perform and record with numerous percussion artists in addition to performing throughout South America, France, and has toured with the FROST Percussion Sextet in Japan. She is both a published and commissioned composer and her compositions have been nationally and internationally performed, by members of the Diane Moser Big Band including legendary jazz tubist, Howard Johnson, members of the Callithumpian Consort, the Lethbrid ge Symphony Orchestra located in Alberta, Canada, and the Spokane New Music Ensemble.Her pie ces have also received positive reviews from the Percussive Arts Society: Percussive Notes magazine. She is also a composer for Odyssey Earth Films, Habana Tropico Studios & Everwonder Films, and MundoFOX's television series "Los Golden Boys."
