Alex McDonald-Smith

Alex expressed an interest in acting since the age of 10 when he first became involved with the Swan Youth Theatre. After moving away to Aberystwyth University to study Zoology he became heavily involved with Curtain Call Musical Theatre Society and the Wardens Dramatic Company. In addition to this Alex worked as a scare actor at The Silver Mountain Experience as the "world's tallest dwarf" whilst at university. His theatre credits include; Wickersham Brother in Seussical; Jack in Always On My Mind (nominated for best actor); Young Peter in In My Time of...; Goodman 'Goody' King in FAME The Musical; Blackpatch in Dick Whittington and the Pi-Rats of the Caribbean; Jasper the Dog in The Magical Adventures of Robin Hood; Sammy in The Wedding Singer; Joe Casey in Our House; Tony in Billy Elliot; RENT and The Producers. His Film & TV and other credits include; Scare promotional work for Screamfest Burton; Dr. Lariat in Screamfest Burton; School boy in Faintheart; Extra in Hinterland and Liam in In A Year - This won Best Picture and Best Director at the MFF Copenhagen and has been accepted into the Long Beach Indie International Film Festival 2016, being nominated for Best Comedy / Best Dramatic Comedy. Alex was discovered through In A Year (2016), which is his first feature length film.
