Pavel Jirasek (1963) graduated at Masaryk University in aesthetics and musicology. He has received many scholarships including study residence in Berlin, London and Hong Kong. Pavel Jirasek is also active in providing lectures of music history, aesthetic and "audio-visual art" at the Depatment of Musicology at Masaryk University and the Theatre Faculty at Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. He has published several books of poetry and prose and belongs to regular contributors to diverse art and cultural journals so as to the Czech Radio and the Czech Television. In 1998 he started to write scripts for a Czech television cultural programme, which he even presented himself and later began to direct. After the year 2000 his work became even more specialized on original creative productions for television such as cultural programmes, journalistic series and especially highly priced and award-winning documents focusing on culture, art and history.
