Biography

Christopher Kimotek Ever since Christopher Kimotek was a kid, movies fueled his imagination, creativity, and knowledge. Every week was spent being taken to the movies by his parents or bugging them to rent from a local video store, again and again. Using the family's camcorder to make stop-motion movies or adventure sequences with his friends was only the beginning. In the sixth-grade he took over his school production of Pandora's Box and turned the Greek Drama into a comedy enjoyed by all. The ability to tell a story in such an entertaining fashion intrigued him and he loved the effect it had on an audience. The prospect of film as an actual career didn't cross his mind until his mid-20's when the stories of LOST had a huge inspiration on storytelling and the meaning of characters. The works of J.J. Abrams and Danny Boyle influenced the way a story could be visualized. Learning many life lessons throughout his 20's, as we all do, gave him a unique perspective and philosophy on life that he wanted to share. Learning and studying the behind the scenes production of film and television led him to an internship with the Casting Director Valerie Mccaffery (Dark City, American History X). That summer was spent learning behind the scenes of casting and managing actors. Never finding satisfaction with just casting led him to the Film Program at American River College where it only took one semester to know he needed to be Writing, Directing, and Shooting these stories. The love for Editing emerged from this. Shortly after graduating with a degree in Film, it was hard to find people as serious as he was to put everything else aside and focus on making quality films. He found fellow passionate filmmakers in Connor Hunt and Dylan Peshek, BCK Productions was complete. Being involved with 30+ indie productions around the Sacramento area with different groups has given Christopher the tools and know-how to get the job done. To pretend everything is going to go perfectly as planned is not realistic and the more you know that and accept it, makes you very versatile and adaptable on a set. Problem solving is a big part of the art form. Christopher has proved time and time again that the ability to think unconventionally and outside the box has a force in completing a production. He always makes sure that everyone is having a good time and laughing on-set while remaining dead serious about the task at hand. The ability to see a million and one options when most others will only see one, is where his unique style and strive for originality differs from the rest. His high-energy and optimism has been known to be infectious to others and proves he's the right man for the job.
