Polsat began broadcasting on December 5, 1992 at 4.30 p.m. "This is a landmark date not only in the history of Polsat, but first and foremost in the history of the Polish television market. Polsat, as the first commercial television station in Poland, broke the monopoly of public television and paved the way for subsequent independent commercial television projects. Within 29 years Polsat gained millions of viewers and secured its strong position on the Polish media market. The station has earned its success by offering entertainment of the highest quality: cult TV series, foreign film hits, world class sports, exciting programs with the participation of celebrities as well as music events and great concerts of stars.
