Kostis Charamountanis was born in 1994 in Athens. He is self-taught, award-winning director. Since 2016 he has written and directed many acclaimed short films. He is best known for "Anthology of a Butterfly" (2020), "Dog of Chamomile" (2019) and "Kiokou Before Summer Comes" (2018). In September 2022, he will shoot his first feature film titled "Kiuka Journeying to the Moon Through the Endless Sea" produced by Heretic. The script has received funding from the Hellenic Film Centre, ERT and North Macedonia. In parallel with the preparation of "Kyuka", he is working on the script of his next feature film titled "The Ecstatic Insanity of the Sorrowful Shepherd". The script is in early development and has received funding approval from the Greek Film Center. Being a self-taught director, he has gained a wide range of experience exclusively through personal study and work in many areas and stages of filmmaking, including screenwriting, cinematography, photography, film production and organization, editing, sound design, color correction and animation, acting, music composition, and graphic design.
