Biography

Priscilla Wittman is an Mexican-American actress, composer, arranger and vocalist. With a rich heritage seated in her Spanish, German, English, Portuguese and Norwegian roots, she has always loved learning languages and travel. Her acting career began in the mid 1990's in Dallas, Texas, where she appeared on programs such as Walker Texas Ranger, Barney, and Wishbone. During this time, she occasionally did free-lance reporting and co-hosting for ICTN, a local independent television station. In 2001, she left the USA and moved to Europe, and temporarily left acting to devote more time to her family and new surroundings. However, in 2014 she made the decision to return to acting. Since then, she has worked in film both in the USA and Europe, as well as appeared on several German TV series. In October of this year, she completed filming in her role of Josephine in the German cinema film Sweet Disaster, scheduled for release in 2022. She can also be seen as a Wedding Officiant Spy in the delightful comedy 36 Husbands (2019). Her recent performance as the older "Talli" in the psychological thriller 8 Remains (2018) was described by critic Bobby LePire as "impressive, suggesting heartbreak and confusion with just a few lines of dialogue". In 55 Steps (Eleanor and Colette) (2017) taking on the role of a serious nurse, she had the chance to work closely alongside Hillary Swank, under the direction of the renowned Danish Academy Award-winning film and television director Bille August. She took the role of a grieving mother in the Indie film Edda Tudor (2019), and portrays a somewhat comical vendor, known as the "chicken lady" in To be a Soldier (2018). She can also be seen in the popular faith and family film Providence (2016). Priscilla completed her first CD in 2009, TeGlorificare, a variety of original Spanish Christian compositions. The initial tracks for the CD were recorded in Cuernavaca, Mexico, under the direction of her former father-in-law, the late world-renowned Mexican composer and singer, Luis Demetrio (composer of Sway, Si Dios me Quita la Vida), and his son Luis Jr. She continues to work in music both in composing and arranging for a variety of venues. In 2019, she was contracted to arrange the Christmas orchestral selections for the annual speech of the mayor of Duesseldorf, Germany. She holds an MA in Intercultural Communications from the University of London (Birkbeck), a BA in Music from the University of Texas at Dallas, and an Award from Spurgeon's College in London. She studied composition with the American classical composer Robert Xavier Rodriguez and voice with Barbara Chenault Law, a former student of Madame Paola Novikova (teacher of Nicolai Gedda and George London). Priscilla speaks fluent Spanish and German with a basic knowledge of Italian and Portuguese, and resides in Germany with her husband. By: Priscilla Wittman
