Biography

Maximilian Uriarte is a visionary creator, artist and filmmaker. The grandson of child actor and composer, Joel Davis, Maximilian enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 19 in 2006, where he served two combat deployments to Iraq between 2007 and 2009 as an 0351 Infantry Assaultman and Combat Photographer. Maximilian utilized the Post 9/11 GI Bill to study animation and film at the California College of Arts in the San Francisco Bay Area, graduating with a BFA in Animation in 2013. Maximilian's Marine Corps experience led him to creating the hit comic strip, Terminal Lance, which he writes and illustrates since 2010. Maximilian became a New York Times bestselling author and artist with the release of the acclaimed graphic novel The White Donkey in 2016, which he wrote and illustrated. In 2020, Maximilian released a new fully illustrated graphic novel, Battle Born: Lapis Lazuli. Maximilian now resides in Santa Monica, where he works as a full-time practicing writer, director, artist and author.
