Born August 20th, 1993 in Chicago, IL, Kevin Useni is the youngest of four children. Growing up in a family of artists, Useni discovered his artistic medium through film as a child and served in the Marine Corps from 2011-2015. He officially began his career as an actor while still in the military. Useni landed the lead in the PGA short film, Thomas (2013), the story of a young man who's brother had been killed overseas during a military operation, only to break a promise he had with his father by joining the military to honor his brother. As his fathers now only son, he makes a decision that changes everything.
Useni studied at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in West Hollywood, California. Previously, he studied at the Gately-Poole Conservatory for Acting in Chicago under Kathryn Gately. Kathryn Gately served from 1995 to 2012 as the head of the MFA Professional Acting Program at Northern Illinois University, an URTA/NAST school. She graduated from the Neighborhood Playhouse, studied under Sanford Meisner, and received her MFA in acting from Mason Gross School of the Arts. During her time at Rutgers, Kathryn Gately was mentored by William Esper, and after she graduated, she and Mr. Esper co-taught the BFA and MFA acting candidates at Mason Gross.
