Biography

Stephanie Jean Davis was born and raised just south of Atlanta, GA. She is the daughter of renowned living-legend sculptor Andy Davis. She grew up around many artistic influences, and began showing interest and talent in the performing arts as early as 5 years old. Stephanie began acting in theater as a consistent hobby by the time she was ten. She appeared in a traveling troupe when she was eleven, starring as the bird-narrator of a children's show based on fables. She also began playing her great-grandfather's violin, and showed a skill for it. She continued her acting studies alongside music through high school and college. She later was awarded the Hope Scholarship to attend the University of Georgia, to study broadcast journalism. However, she found herself auditioning for the productions in the theater department all the time. From then on, she began getting cast in many plays and short films. Stephanie changed her major and began studying theater full-time. She studied many acting techniques, including Meisner, Stanislavski, Chekov, Contact improvisation, and Butoh. She also played violin and sang in several bands throughout her college years, in bands such as Ice Cream Socialists, who opened up for Tegan and Sara at the Variety Playhouse in 2006. Stephanie later moved to NYC in 2011, to further pursue her acting career. She studied at The Barrow Group, and has started gathering roles in the city for the past several years. Stephanie has acted in independent films, plays, and often creates impromptu Butoh performances around the city.
