Asil Moussa

Biography

Asil Moussa is a writer, actor, and filmmaker. Asil graduated with a Bachelors in English Literature, Creative Writing, and Digital Journalism from the University of Windsor, and received a Certificate of Film Studies from Ryerson University. Asil's worked on multiple films, including the movie, The Tiger Hunter, which is now on Netflix. She has also acted on the TV show, Mangoes. The Riveter Magazine called Asil "the hijab-wearing actress you should know". Asil's short film, The Card, screened at film festivals worldwide. Asil Moussa won the Windsor Endowment for the Arts Emerging Artists Grant, which said that Asil "tackles big issues with simplistic, impactful storytelling" and her film inspires reflections on "diversity, perception, and human interaction." The film was broadcasted on CBC's TV show Absolutely Canadian, and praised as a semi-finalist for CBC's TV competition show, Short Film Face Off. Asil was chosen for MPAC's screenwriting workshop with Wayfarer Entertainment for a feature film script she co-wrote.
