Nollis Dewar

Nollis Dewar born March 14, 1985, is an actor and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his film roles in XXenos (2019), Profited (2018) and Myron Gallimore (2017). Nollis is currently a series regular on the innovative award-winning mini-series Coconut Hut and Caribbean Roots. Nollis Dewar was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica to father Myron Dewar and mother Juliet Reid. He is the oldest sibling of six sister and four brothers. His parent were teenagers at the time of his birth and both were unable to financially or mentally support a young child. They decided to leave him in care of his grandmother' Vita Myrie shortly after his birth. At the age of four at his grand father's workplace "The Pork Pit" restaurant in Montego Bay Nollis met a woman by the name of Rosa Sanders. Ms. Sanders an American citizen from Los Angeles, California visiting the Caribbean island with plans of starting a new life. Rosa Sanders purchased a breathe taking home in Montego Bay, Jamaica and adopted Nollis. July 21, 2001 Nollis migrated to the United States of America to pursue more opportunities. Nollis earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of Connecticut where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology in 2012. Later that year Mr. Dewar moved to Hollywood, California to pursue a career in filmmaking. Nollis has been featured in the New York Times, Bajun Sun Magazine, Trinidad Express Newspaper, Blue Life Magazine, Episteme Magazine, Caribbean E-magazine and Jamaica Observer newspaper. Nollis is a member of "Jamaicans in Hollywood" and the "Caribbean American Repertory Theatre West". Two wonderful Caribbean Arts, Culture and Humanities groups in Los Angeles, California that focus on Storytelling. Annually they produce films, live theater and events throughout Los Angeles, California. "La Familia Movements" is a non-profit foundation in Los Angeles, California which Nollis founded in 2013. Their mission is to set free disadvantaged communities from indifference, lack of knowledge and opportunities. The Foundation ensures that families in disadvantaged communities have the opportunity to lead a healthy, positive and productive life.
