Jackson McGovern

A graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium's Bachelor of Musical Theatre program, Jackson has already begun to make his mark on the professional scene. Stage credits include Claude (Hair) as part of a sell-out season at the Brisbane Powerhouse, Jigger (Carousel), Victor (The Wishing Well) and most recently The Baker (Into the Woods). He has also been featured in an array of showcases, revues and concerts, and was this year invited to perform at a masterclass with renowned composer/lyricist, John Bucchino. Away from the Con, Jackson has originated principal characters in numerous creative developments (Spark - Megan Shorey; Hell and High Water - Matthew Samer), performed for Joymas Creative (Season Launch 2012, Recall - 2013) and made his film debut in the web-series, Strange Aeons. Originally drama-trained, Jackson will tour as a Shakespearean actor with the Grin and Tonic Theatre Troupe in 2015, and continues to work throughout Queensland as a drama teacher, public speaking coach and freelance writer.
