Biography

Nino Shengelaia is an actor and film producer. She received her two-year Meisner conservatory training at the Maggie Flanigan Studio in New York, NY. Originially born in the country of Georgia, Nino moved to the United States with her family when she was 3 years old and is based in Brooklyn, New York. In 2014, she starred in Georgian film director Dea Kulumbegashvuli's debut short film Invisible Spaces, which was nominated for Palme D'Or at the 2014 Cannes International Film Festival. Invisible Spaces was also the first film from independent Georgia to be part of the official competition at the Cannes International Film Festival. Nino has also worked with documentary film director Amy Berg as series associate producer on Netflix's series Dogs (2018), as well as an associate producer for Amy Berg's documentary feature film about intersectional feminism, This Is Personal (2019).
