Biography

Born in 1968, Michael grew up in mid-western Wisconsin. At age 17 he left home, later married and fathered two daughters. After serving a year-long Army tour in South Korea in 1989, he returned to the States (Ft. Bragg) and divorced. Several months later he was sent to Iraq where he served in combat on the western front of the Persian Gulf War. After returning home, he was honorably discharged from the Army and began working as a manager for several fast-food restaurants. After serving in several management roles across varying industries, he remarried and fathered a son. In 2003 he accepted a position with a US-based trading company and spent six years in Xiamen, China, as the Director of Operations for the company's China offices. Afterwards he traveled to various places as an entrepreneur, including Tanzania and Nicaragua. His wife died in January of 2012, and he continued to raise their son. He wrote a book (Personal Happiness: A Business Strategy) and continued to serve in directorship positions. After a brief stint in the Bakken oil fields, he moved to Billings where he co-produced The Writer's Ghost, a movie based on a screenplay he had written before traveling to the Bakken. Today he co-owns two companies (P210 Productions and Absolute Advantage International). He has an MBA in leadership and continues to work on a doctoral degree in business administration while raising his son.
